HASSRA’s Clean Sweep at the 2017 CSSC Squash Championships

HASSRA sent two teams to this year’s Civil Service Team Squash Championships held on 3rd and 4th February at The Park Squash Club in Nottingham - a top class venue.

The ‘A’ Team of Marc Thomas, Keeley Grindle, Jackie Codman, Chris Beldron and Adam Ward were crowned 2017 Champions, winning every one of their matches 5-0. A tremendous achievement, you will agree.

The HASSRA ‘B’ Team of Phil Reasbeck, Kevin Mulligan, Siân Hughes and Nigel Williams also managed to collect a trophy by winning the Plate Final.

Ruth Sleigh (HSE) who was part of the B team wasn’t available for the photo. As soon as she had played her squash match on Saturday morning she had to leave in order to play a hockey match. That’s dedication for you!

Special mention should go to Keeley Grindle who faced the current CSSC Singles champion, who she had not managed to beat on three previous outings.

Keeley won a tight match - 3 games to 2. In fact, her opponent had match ball at 2-1, and it was through Keeley’s dogged determination that she continued to fight back.

Well done to everyone involved. If you want to know more about squash opportunities within HASSRA contact either your Regional Business Partner or the HASSRA Squash National Team manager, Siân Hughes.
