Volunteer Toolbox – Insurance

Insurance is an important issue for all HASSRA clubs, but not one that should cause sleepless nights!

The important thing is that every club assesses whether it has any insurance needs over and above the cover automatically purchased by National HASSRA for all its affiliated clubs and regions.

This brief consideration should take place at least once a year and is often best undertaken at the first meeting after the clubs Annual General Meeting.

The review is a simple one and should merely involve a consideration of whether the club has any insurance risks that warrant specific cover. The conclusions of this consideration should always be recorded in the minutes of the meeting.

To help clubs in this review, the attached information, detailing types of insurance, will hopefully provide a little background on some of the most common insurances that are relevant.
