A former farmhouse, Abingworth Hall stands in eight acres of grounds, including its own lake and an ancient yew hedge avenue leading to fantastic views of the newly created South Downs National Park. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool, open in summer, and the main house boasts two lounges, a function room, conservatory bar, and 25 bedrooms. The hotel is just a skip away from the village of Thakeham at the foot of the South Downs within easy driving distance of several historic towns and cities, most fabulously Arundel, Chichester, and Brighton. Set in a landscape of ancient woodland, hidden valleys, chalky cliffs, and high-backed hills, there are ample walking opportunities around the sightseeing greats such as Devil’s Dyke, Seven Sisters Country Park, Kingley Vale, Parham House, and the Clayton Windmills (known locally as Jack and Jill).

Price
The advertised price is based on a discounted rate from HF, 39 bed occupancy, and a 30% subsidy from HASSRA. I have excluded 2 twin rooms with a bath but no shower from the pricing. These are offered as ‘budget’ rooms with a discount of £25pp; if these are booked the price will reduce.
· HASSRA Leeds members - £440pp
· HASSRA non-members - £630pp.
Please be aware - the price will change depending on the numbers travelling, use of budget rooms, and meeting the minimum requirement of 35 travellers for the trip to go ahead.
Rooms – the hotel offers comfortable single, twin and double en-suite rooms, a small number of which are premium rooms. Premium rooms will be charged at £50pp over the standard price; please note the booking form if you would like one. Remaining premium rooms will be allocated by draw. Single rooms incur no surcharge; if places for single or premium rooms are over subscribed a draw will take place. There are more twin than double rooms, and one ‘standard’ single en-suite (usually a walk leader’s room) available with a discount of £65. Please complete your 1st and 2nd choice room options in the application.
Closing Date: 4th Sept 2024. Please respond within the timescale and preferably asap to the organiser, Luisa Panetta; a deposit of £150 per person, preferably by bank transfer, or cheque payable to HASSRA LEEDS WALKING CLUB, is required to secure your booking.
