A LONG WEEKEND IN THE PEAK DISTRICT11th – 13th July 2025.

Join us for a weekend in the Peak District National Park and enjoy the contrast of the heather moorlands and rocky escarpments. Walk Stanage Edge, the Roaches and the Dark Peak or meander through gentle green valleys and pretty villages. There will be a short walk on Friday afternoon, walks on Saturday & Sunday and, subject to demand, a short walk on Monday morning. Bicycles can be hired to explore the plentiful, easy going trails, there are many historic houses in the area or you can spend the weekend just doing your own thing.

The HotelThe Peveril of the Peak, named after Sir Walter Scott’s novel, is set in extensive grounds in the village of Thorpe. This quaint Country House is less than a mile from the famous stepping stones at the entrance to Derbyshire’s Dovedale gorge – perfect for all levels of adventure seekers! Here you can enjoy views of the wonderfully traditional English countryside from many of the public rooms and en suite, bedrooms.

·       HASSRA Leeds members £238 per person

·       HASSRA non-members £389 per person

The price is for B,B&EM and packed lunch on Sat & Sun, in classic rooms, and is subject to HF discounts membership and group size. Room upgrades are available at £30 per person and are not subject to the HASSRA subsidy.

Transport

No transport is provided for this trip – we will be using our own vehicles.  If you need, or can offer, a lift on a petrol-sharing basis, please inform the organiser when booking.
