HASSRA Heroes
HASSRA Heroes
Local clubs and/or individuals are encouraged to nominate your local HASSRA Heroes, and you can nominate as many as you like!
Nomination criteria:
Your HASSRA Heroes should be volunteers whose tireless dedication to HASSRA makes a difference to the HASSRA offering to other members, but their contribution goes unnoticed or unrewarded. These are the volunteers who would not be put forward as Volunteer of the Year but their contribution to HASSRA should still be recognised. Nominations can be for a one-off contribution or something they do regularly. Just a few examples of the types of activities they may have done include:
- Organised a trip, event or activity – no matter how big or small.
- Supported a recruitment campaign.
- Negotiated a new benefit.
- Collected money for Charity.
- Sold raffle tickets.
- Come up with an innovative idea.
- Helped spread the word with newsletters, updating notice boards, managing social media accounts or word of mouth.
- Helping members activate their HASSRA Live account or sign up to newsletters so they can take full advantage of their membership.
How to nominate:
Nominate your HASSRA Heroes using the HASSRA Heroes nomination form. Once completed please return your nomination to HASSRA.WestMidlands@dwp.gov.uk.
The closing date for nominations is midnight on Saturday 5 July 2025. All nominations will then be forwarded to the HASSRA National Awards Committee for consideration. All nominations that meet the criteria will be shown on the HASSRA Heroes page on HASSRA Live. One nominee from each region will be invited to the National Awards Dinner in May 2026. That nominee will be chosen by the Awards Committee.
