HASSRA Leeds Walking Club & HASSRA Y&H
Appletreewick Circular Walk - Saturday 26 April
The Walk: This 7-mile walk starts at the Craven Arms pub in Appletreewick. It's a walk the club has done before, but well worth a second visit. The walk begins with a mile along the bank of the river Wharfe, before moving up hill to encounter some beautiful Dales views. It then proceeds on close to Parcevall Hall, and then along to Trollers Gill. The final stretch is along a track on open moorland, again with dramatic Dales views, before returning to Appletreewick and the Craven Arms.
Meeting Time and Place: Meet at 10.00 for a 10.15 start at The Craven Arms. There is a car park at the rear of the pub.
By car: If you need, or can offer, a lift on a petrol-sharing basis; please let Jerry Bird know when booking.
Lunch: You can either bring a packed lunch, or if you would prefer to eat at the Craven Arms, could you please contact Jerry as soon as possible, and by 19 April at the latest, to allow him to book a table. It’s a very popular pub, and likely to be booked up well in advance on a Saturday. The walk should be concluded by around 1.30pm. Website for the Craven Arms is http://www.craven-cruckbarn.mobi/index.html
Clothing: The terrain may be muddy and uneven in parts so appropriate footwear will be needed. Given the unpredictable weather, please bring/wear suitable clothing/layers.
Please let Jerry Bird know by close on:
19 April if you would like to join the walk and have lunch at the Craven Arms
or
24 April at the latest if you just want to come on the walk.
