The HASSRA West Midlands Regional Crown Green Bowls event will take place on Friday 16 May 2025 at the Wem(Sports) Bowling Club, Bowens Field, Wem, Shropshire, SY4 5AP. The event runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm (arrival and registration from 9:15am)

Event Details:
The HASSRA West Midlands regional Crown Green Bowls event is open to all members, with the following competitions played on the day:
o Singles
o Doubles
This event will also act as a qualifier for the national finals: 2 singles players(winner and runner up) & the winning doubles pair(at least) will be chosen from this event to represent HASSRA West Midlands at the HASSRA Festival which takes place at the University of Warwick in July.

Format will be decided dependent on entries

There will also be a taster session/tuition available(PM) from British Crown Green Bowls Association coaches for any beginners.

Refreshments/Breakfast roll will be provided on arrival with tea/coffee/water available freely throughout.
A buffet lunch will be scheduled during the day(please let us know if you have any dietary requirements)
Further refreshments/snacks/alcoholic drinks can be purchased from the bowls club at cost but please note it is a CASH ONLY venue currently.
Members can bring their own bowls/woods, although they will be provided if you don’t have any.
Please wear/bring suitable clothing for the weather on the day and flat shoes(no sandals or heeled shoes) on the bowling greens.
Toilet facilities are available at the venue, along with free car parking.

Sat Nav postcode(SY4 5AP) will take you onto the housing estate. The bowling club is situated behind the car park at the end of Bowens Field next to the Swimming Pool/Football club. Wem Train Station is also a 10-15 minute walk away and served by trains from Shrewsbury/Crewe

Expenses:
HASSRA West Midlands will reimburse members reasonable travel expenses for this event.
Expenses must be submitted on HASSRA Live within one calendar month of the event. Expenses submitted after this date will not be approved.
Where necessary all receipts must be provided. Claims without proof of purchase will be rejected.
Please ensure your claim is in accordance with the HASSRA West Midlands Regional Finance Policy.
